Gary Wilson, Ireland's new T20 captain after William Porterfield decided to step down from the role, will play for the Northern Knights this evening in their Inter-provincial T20 Trophy game against Munster Reds in Cork (5pm).

It will be Wilson's first white-ball game for the Knights and, along with James Shannon, it will be an extra warm-up match ahead of next week's Twenty20 Tri-Series with Netherlands and Scotland.

Wilson flies straight in from England, where he was out for three for Derbyshire Falcons yesterday in their Royal London One-Day Cup showdown against Notts Outlaws.

In all, 10 members of the Ireland squad heading to Holland on Sunday will be in action, with eight of them at Bready where the two unbeaten teams, North West Warriors and Leinster Lightning, meet (5pm).

George Dockrell leads the Lightning side which also includes Andrew Balbirnie, Kevin O'Brien, Simi Singh and Peter Chase, but the usual, formidable-looking squad welcomes back Eddie Richardson, while Tyrone Kane - surprisingly left out of the Ireland party - will be out to prove that the selectors have made a mistake.

Warriors have been forced into one change with David Scanlon not yet recovered from the back injury he sustained during Bready's game at Ardmore last weekend, being replaced by Donemana all-rounder William McClintock, who has played only once since the corresponding game last season which Lightning won by 56 runs.

Porterfield, Stuart Thompson and Craig Young are the three Warriors who will be Holland-bound, but here too there is at least one player with a point to prove, captain Andy McBrine having been left out of the Ireland 14.
