Ballymena are primed for an end of season trophy assault.

The Sky Blues are not only on course to lift the Private Greens League Division One title for the first time since 2013, but they also have two cup finals to negotiate over the next seven days.

Although they still trail Dunbarton by two and a half points, they have played one game less.

And they gained a massive psychological advantage in midweek by claiming six points in a vital shoot-out against the Gilford team.

Ballymena travel to bottom side Ballywalter today.

"We had a great win over Dunbarton to give ourselves a decent chance, but we've still some tricky matches up ahead," said Ballymena's Graham Wilson.

After the Ballywalter game, Ballymena face Falls, Pickie and Belmont, the out-going champions, which could be the match that decides the destination of the title.

Dunbarton are at home to Old Bleach today and they too must face Ballywalter and Falls.

The Sky Blues then have two cup finals. They come up against Mossley in the PGL Senior Cup decider on Thursday before they line out against Bangor in the sport's blue riband event, the IBA Senior Cup.

Meanwhile, it's advantage Whitehead in the race for the NIBA Division One title.

The East Antrim boys shot to the top of the table in midweek by defeating rivals Bangor at Ward Park - and now hold a three point advantage going into the final two games.

Whitehead entertain struggling Divis today, while the Seasiders make the journey to Carrickfergus.
