Belfast Giants coach Doug Christiansen has completed his goaltending line-up for the upcoming season.
Christiansen has secured the return to the Odyssey Arena of Nathan Craze, much to his own surprise.
And with offers out to five more players, the new Giants chief is hopeful that more slots on his roster will be filled within the next week.
Craze backed up the Giants’ Player of the Year, Stephen Murphy, last season and will return in the same role for a fourth successive campaign and his fifth in total in Belfast.
“I am pleasantly surprised to have brought Nathan Craze back to the Giants,” Christiansen said last night.
“He is good enough to be a starter in this league and I thought that he might have got that opportunity somewhere else.
“I am glad that he didn't and has decided to stay in Belfast.
“Stephen Murphy will need some nights off during the season and it's good to know the man coming in is more than capable of replacing him.”
Christiansen has a clear recollection of one particular performance from Craze last season which wasn’t exactly a happy memory.
“I remember Nathan playing against us when I was at Edinburgh and he shut us out that night,” added Christiansen.
“I have first hand knowledge of how he can frustrate opposing forwards and I'll be expecting exactly the same from him next season.”
