James McSorley has now won two world titles in two years.

Belfast's own James McSorley is a world champion after helping Great Britain's wheelchair basketball team make history.

McSorley's side claimed their first ever world title by seeing off USA 79-62 in the World Championship final in Hamburg on Sunday evening.

It's been a whirlwind ride for the 23-year-old, who was just making his Team GB debut at the tournament. He didn't feature in the final success but did play in Friday's semi-final victory over Iran.

It's a second world title in two years for McSorley, who was part of the Team GB side that won an U23 crown last year.

He plays for Knights Wheelchair Basketball Club in Belfast and the Sheffield Steelers. McSorley enjoyed European success at club level earlier this year when his Steelers side won EuroLeague 2 for the first time in their history.
