Bill Johnston closes in on Paddy Brunty

Anglers who braved heavy rain and strong winds to take part in the fourth round of Islandderry Fishery's Winter League were rewarded by the lake fishing extremely well with a lot of trout between 5lbs and 8lbs being caught.

Bill Johnston, Lurgan, took first place with his three-fish bag of 13lb10 which included a lovely 6lb 4 trout.

This gave him 10 points which brought him up into second in the overall League. Second was Belfast's Paddy Brunty, with three for 12lb 8 keeping him in first overall while his brother Liam was third with three for 10lb 9.

The next round of this League is on Saturday February 22. For bookings, phone 07859 074424 or email islandderry@hotmail.co.uk
