Bowls: Ireland in warm-up for Games
Ireland boss Jim Baker is relishing the prospect of taking his team into action in an International Test Series at Glasgow over the weekend.
The tournament, which includes New Zeland and Wales, is a build-up to the Commonwealth Games, staged at Kelvingrove, later this month.
Whitehead's Martin McHugh, who was recently beaten in two British Isles finals, will feature in the singles discipline. He is joined in the squad by Neil Booth, Ian McClure, Neil Mulholland and Paul Daly.
Ireland's women will also be on show in the two-day competition that gets under way today. Headed by Catherine Beattie in the singles, she teams up with Ballymena trio Donna McNally, Barbara Cameron and Jennifer Dowds along with Ewarts players Mandy Cunningham.
"It will be great preparation for the Commonwealth Games," said Baker. "The players will be competing on the actual greens used for the main event."
