Four Ulster stars get Ireland call for shot at Euro Indoors

Four Ulster athletes are included in the 11-strong Ireland squad for the European Indoor Championships in Belgrade in 10 days' time.

While three have been selected on the basis of their recent Irish indoor performances, Lisburn AC's Amy Foster, who is currently in Australia, has been chosen as a result of her Commonwealth Games qualification time over 100m at the weekend.

Foster (28) had a time of 11.42 seconds in Canberra - only 0.02 outside her NI record.

Lisburn teammate Ciara Mageean (24) has opted for the 1,500m following her easy win in the weekend's Irish Championships 3,000m.

Mageean is joined in the metric mile by Newcastle's Kerry O'Flaherty who is running better than ever at the age of 35. A week ago the Rio Olympics steeplechaser set a PB of 4.14 .63.

World Indoors high hurdles semi-finalist Ben Reynolds was a convincing winner in the Irish Championships. The North Down star has a season's best time of 7.77 seconds.
