Northern Irish MMA fighter Leah McCourt will make her return to the Bellator cage on May 16 when she takes on Janay Harding at London's SSE Arena, Wembley.

McCourt will face the New Zealander on the main card of Strabane fighter James Gallagher's bantamweight clash with Cal Ellenor at Bellator London, which will also include former England rugby union international James Haskell making his debut on the undercard.

The 27-year-old featherweight made history when she became the first woman to headline a European card in defeating Judith Ruis at Bellator's Dublin event at the 3Arena last month.

Saintfield fighter McCourt was actually due to face Ruis on the undercard to Gallagher-Ellenor that night too, only for Gallagher to suffer an injury forcing the postponement of the fight, bumping her up to the headline bout.

With her win over Ruis, McCourt is now 5-1 in her professional career and is continuing her rapid rise through the ranks as she eyes up a potential title fight in the near future.

While her 5-5 record suggests Harding hasn't had the most successful career, the big-hitting Kiwi will be a tough opponent for McCourt at the SSE Arena.

Her most recent outing saw her lose to Amanda Bell by TKO in November, however she will be gunning for a big bounceback win when she takes on the Northern Irish fighter.
