Four Ulster players have been named in the Ireland women's indoor squad for the European Championship trip to Slovakia later this month.

Former Ards striker Chloe Brown, now with English champions East Grinstead, has retained the vice-captaincy after the recent test series in South Africa.

She is joined in the 12-strong squad, which will contest the Euros in Bratislava between January 24-26, by ex-clubmates Caroline Adams and Amy Benson along with Queen's player Erin Getty.

Among the newcomers who didn't travel to South Africa is World Cup silver medallist Ali Meeke, who isn't part of the current outdoor squad.

Ireland will face Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal,Denmark and Finland, needing a top-two finish to secure promotion to the second tier.

Squad: Caroline Adams, Sophie Barnwell, Amy Benson, Chloe Brown (v-capt), Naomi Carroll, Orla Fox (capt), Erin Getty, Hannah Humphries, Ali Meeke, Sarah Patton, Orla Patton, Millie Regan.
