I won't return to the German Masters, vows angry Allen

By Gareth Hanna

Mark Allen says his "hate/hate" relationship with the German Masters is alive and well after his first round exit in Berlin.

Just 10 days after his Dafabet Masters success, the Antrim man was edged out 5-4 by world number 45 Matthew Selt.

Allen voiced his frustrations on Twitter in his typically straight-talking manner after Wednesday night's defeat.

He even said he wouldn't be returning to the tournament until changes are made.

"So (my) hate/hate affair with the German Masters continues," he explained. "Seriously hate the event!! So distracting for all players who aren't on table 1. Will not be back until set-up changes!!

"Such a shame by the way about Germany as it has the potential to be amazing!!! Great venue and packed crowds every day. Set-up must change though."

Allen will contest the Coral Shootout in Watford from next Thursday.
