Team Ireland Tubertini Match Club have banked fifth place at the World Feeder Championships for clubs in Spain.

It was a proud day for Ireland and the team who were just one good carp away from a podium finish!

On the final day, Ireland landed first and second place in their section where Tubertini's Jack Tisdall won his section for the second day running and Karl Woodhouse was second for Van Den Eynde Erne Anglers who finished a very credible 17th out of 31 teams teams from 16 nations.

The gold medal went to Holland, silver to England and bronze to Ukraine.

After 16 rounds of qualifiers on the River Cusher, Co Armagh, Team Ireland for the World Predator Shore Fishing Championships with Lures has been announced.

Representing Ireland in Italy this June will be Jacek Gorny, Lindsay McFadden, Colin Rutherford and first time qualifier David Bowles.

They will be accompanied by reserve Andrew Powell, delegate Steven Powell and captain Tomek Kurman.

Conlig gets a reservoir of watersport facilities

Northern Ireland Cross Community Angling group have signed a long term management lease with DAERA Inland Fisheries for the Lower Reservoir at Conlig, Co Down.

The site will become a multi sports complex for activities including coarse angling, canoeing, sub-aqua and triathlon.

However, angling on the facility will not be available until mid 2019 as the site requires capital development work to provide over 50 pegs as well as car parking for use by people with disabilities. Access for canoeists, triathletes and divers will begin next month with tickets available from Today's convenience store, Main Street, Conlig.

The facility will remain open for walking and jogging with potential plans for a 'dog off leash' area.

Scott, Honorary Secretary of the group, commented: "We are delighted to add Conlig Reservoir to our portfolio of lakes. It is an excellent blank canvas to develop over the next few years and will allow us to offer a shared safe space for all communities to enjoy relaxation and recreation.

"Also, for the first time, we will be entering into partnerships with new sports. It is with great anticipation that we look forward to and welcome this collaboration to bring something new to the Ards and North Down area."
