Marty McHugh returns to Ireland line-up for vital home international series

Marty McHugh returns to the Ireland team for the BIBC Home Internationals at Llandrindrod Wells, Wales, on Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3.

The Whitehead man is one of five changes to the side that finished third in the Series last season.

Bangor's Graham McKee is also recalled along with Dunbarton's Andy Hughes and Stephen Coleman (Ballymena).

Robbie Maher, from the St James's Gate club in Dublin, has been handed his international debut, while Belmont Darren Atkinson is named as reserve for the first time at this level.

Meanwhile, the Provincials retained the IBA Inter-association Senior Championship at Belmont on Saturday, finishing the two-day campaign with an unbeaten record.

They got off to the best possible start with an impressive win against the Private Greens League before claiming a crucial result against the NIBA in the second session.

With the finish line in sight, they didn't disappoint as the completed the job in style against the Bowling League of Ireland.
