NI contingent face a fight for top honours at Fairyhouse trials
Northern Region eventers have been selected for the international Tattersalls Horse Trials at Fairyhouse which started yesterday and run until Sunday.
Tyrella horsewoman Emily Corbett heads up the four star section with her horse Leapfrog, while Gilford County Down rider Steven Smith takes Hi Happy Harry in the three star international as the cream of UK riders have arrived in force to make a strong challenge on the Northern Irish representation.
Belfast's Holly Boal partners Bonmahon Flash in the two star L section together with Comber's June Burgess, owner of the Fitzwilliam Hotel, Belfast with Galwaybay Echo.
Hillsborough's veteran rider Denis Currie competes Ardstown Aramis in the CCI 2 star L section as does Banbridge's Jessica McIntyre on Sergeant Kiki.
Other riders include Fergal and Nicky Nesbitt and Saintfield's Jonathan Steele.
The under 25 international section features County Down riders Ella Boyle, Anna Kelly and Hannah Blakely.
Bessbrook's Lucy McIlroy who was runner up in last year's Junior section with Major Black is back on course again and hoping to impress.
Carrickfergus physio Anita Doherty competes with Tiboy des Etisses, while Banbridge rider Johnny Mulligan is also listed with Comber riders Alanna and Anna Kelly and Antrim's Gemma Goodrich and Tori Dixon.
