Nutt would love a repeat of Old Bleach's 2014 trophy heroics

Old Bleach savoured their finest hour in the IBA Senior Cup in 2014. The celebrations went on for quite some time in Randalstown, where the famous old trophy took up residence for the first time in the club's history.

With the 2017 Cup campaign about to get under way, Old Bleach's Michael Nutt admits that victory over Dunbarton three years ago will live long in the memory bank.

They begin their challenge today against Divis at Falls Park - a fixture that gives the Private Greens League boys a genuine chance of claiming a slot against either Ulster Maple Leaf or Lurgan in round two on June 13.

"We'll be taking nothing for granted," said Nutt. "The Cup win was fabulous for the club.

"Another Cup run would be great. We've only managed one league win so far this season, but there is no shame in being beaten by Belmont and Ballymena.

"We don't know an awful lot about Divis, but any team on their home green can be dangerous, so we'll give them every respect."

Meanwhile, Ballymoney are one of the first teams through to round two as their opponents Railway Union have pulled out of today's scheduled first round tie.

The Provincial boys now face a difficult trip to Bowling League of Ireland side Leinster next time out.
