O'Hanlon has eye on quickfire double over her former teams

By Richard Bullick

Northern Ireland netball captain Caroline O'Hanlon will be back in British SuperLeague action tonight, hoping to complete a five-day double over her two former teams.

Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards winner O'Hanlon - who will also play for the Armagh ladies gaelic football team against Tyrone on Sunday - shone in her first competitive home match for Manchester Thunder on Monday evening as they beat her previous side Scottish Sirens 60-43.

Tonight the Thunder will start firm favourites to make it three wins out of three when they host the first franchise O'Hanlon played for, Team Northumbria.

Northumbria will be without NI star shooter Lisa Bowman, sidelined with an ankle injury.

The Thunder started their SuperLeague campaign by beating Severn Stars 48-47 in Worcester.

The third NI player in this season's SuperLeague, Michelle Drayne, was involved in a thriller on Monday night when Hertfordshire Mavericks edged Surrey Storm 64-62 in over-time.
