Daryl Gurney is out of the PDC World Darts Championship after suffering a shock defeat at the hands of the world number 28.

Jamie Lewis hit twelve 180s on his way a nail-biting encounter 4-3 at Alexandra Palace to end the fifth seed's bid for world glory.

Gurney had his chance to snatch a narrow victory but missed a match dart before losing fourth successive legs as Lewis won out.

Northern Ireland's final hope is Fermanagh's Brendan Dolan, who takes on Mervyn King in his third-round tie on Sunday afternoon.
