Sheepwalk Mac can keep unbeaten record

Sheepwalk Mac, the pacey Belfast-owned fawn pup, takes on three other unbeaten competition runners in the third round of the Bar-One Racing Irish Sprint (400) at Dundalk tonight.

Trained by Michael Taggart for Dessie Gilroy, the Ballymac Maeve dog has won his two heats in impressive style and is the fastest so far (21.12).

He comes up against the English contender Target Classic, formerly Drumna Classic, and this fellow, a black son of Big Daddy Cool, is a very live threat to Mac's bid to land the top prize.

But Mac has the better pace into the corner and is just preferred in what promises to be a cracking race.

The other unbeaten contenders are John Byrne's Craigavon sprinter Mythical Light and last year's runner-up Yes Boss who beat Roy Ruddy's Dungannon runner Drumcrow Obama a length last week (21.48). The latter runs in heat one and is perfectly boxed on the inside to secure a semi-final place.
