Tip top form lands £400

By Robert Fenton

It was a case of deja vu in Drumbo Park's Bitches final (A5) with a repeat result of the previous week's semi-final in which Rafas Wee Tip got up on the line to deny Silverhead Tina.

Once more, as expected, Silverhead broke best but cut across to the middle of the track, almost colliding with Rafas on the run-up. However, she led round and down the far side, pursued by Rafas, and it stayed that way until turning for home.

However, again Rafas stayed on better and prevailed by a neck in 29.29 secs, the black bitch collecting the £400 for Armagh's Michael Smyth.

Dundonald's Margaret Campbell has hit a purple path and had three winners over the weekend. The best of them was Portmagee Beauty who skated round in a fabulous 28.95 in beating Two Moments nine lengths.

She followed up with a good sprint winner in Southwind Skibb who came through on the home-straight for a solid four and a half lengths triumph over Hy Corina in a notable 18.21 secs while earlier Skiproe Bob made it a weekend treble in scoring on his first visit to the track.

Once into his stride, the brindle dog hit the front rounding the opening turn on the wide outside and came home two lengths ahead of Drumcrow Blue (18.58).
