By David Kelly

As the countdown gathers pace towards the start of the All-Ireland league season, Ulster basketball fans are in for a treat tomorrow when the Lake Michigan Admirals take on UU Elks at La Salle College, Belfast (5pm).

The Admirals are led by former Harlem Globetrotter, 6ft '7 Antonio 'Rainmaker' Griffin who played his college basketball at Florida State and for the Elks it is a perfect way to hone their skills ahead of the start of their league campaign.

The Admirals will also have 6ft 6' Odgra Bobo who has played professionally in Saudi Arabia, China, Italy, Portugal, Mexico and Iraq as they look to put on a show in front of a big crowd.

Admirals Coach Chris Glisson said: "We are delighted to be coming to Ireland to showcase our talent. The young people of Belfast are in for a real treat in Antonio Griffin and high flying Odgra Bobo. We look forward to meeting the Belfast kids and showing them how it's done."

Event organiser Dave Cullen said: "We're very grateful to the Lake Michigan Admirals for travelling to Belfast and a big thanks to Chris Glisson for his hard work. Admission is adult £5, junior £3 and family ticket is £10," said Cullen.

During the game, the Admirals will be presenting new Belfast team Belfast Wildcats with their new uniforms as they prepare to enter the Northern Ireland junior leagues. The Wildcats are made up of Somalian teenagers now living in Belfast. Cullen added: "It will be fantastic for them to be presented with their jerseys by people like former Harlem Globetrotter Antonio Griffin."
