Cork forced to lose chases

Cork have been forced to cancel the two races over fences that had been rescheduled for Monday's meeting as the steeplechase course remains unraceable because of frost.

Officials had delayed the O'Connell Group Hilly Way Chase, featuring Golden Silver, and the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Lombardstown Mares Novice Chase from Sunday's card in the hope of being able to save them, but this has proved impossible.

The remainder of the programme will proceed as planned, with the first of six races commencing at 12.15pm. Sunday's hurdles and bumper meeting went ahead as planned.

Punchestown remains unfit for racing due to a covering of snow ahead of the fixture scheduled for Tuesday, and officials are continuing to monitor the situation.
