Cracker still on track for Chepstow
James Motherway has welcomed the decision to postpone the Coral Welsh National until January 8.
The County Cork trainer is responsible for Bluesea Cracker, who has long been one of the favourites for the Chepstow highlight after winning the Irish National in the spring and showing promise behind Midnight Chase at Cheltenham in November.
"The plan is still to go there for the Welsh National - I haven't really planned on thinking about anything else for her," said Motherway.
"It has been cold enough down here but we've missed no work through the weather and we were on schedule for Monday with her."
Pat Murphy is not planning to deviate from the race with Maktu.
"I'll aim him for the rescheduled race, as there's not really an alternative in between. We'll have to keep him going for another two weeks now, but you have to give credit to Chepstow for saving the race, I totally respect what they've done," said Murphy.
