Joncol rerouted to Durkan

The John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown is the likely next port of call for Joncol.

Paul Nolan's eight-year-old, who beat Cooldine on his Thurles comeback earlier this month, had been set for a trip to Newbury to take in Saturday's Hennessy Gold Cup.

But his trainer told the Racing Post: "We were all set to run but having spoken to a few people who've looked at the track, we got reports that the ground is quicker than we'd like.

"He's best suited by plenty of ease and the ground would appear to be going the other way.

"His next race will probably be the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown on December 11."
