Aidan O'Brien is responsible for 12 of the 35 entries for the Qipco Sussex Stakes on July 27.

The Ballydoyle handler claimed the Group One feature with Giant's Causeway (2000), Henrythenavigator (2008) and Rip Van Winkle (2009), and could call upon Classic winners Roderic O'Connor and Misty For Me.

O'Brien's exciting Australian import So You Think has also been given an entry and if he were to drop down to a mile at Glorious Goodwood, it would raise the possibility of him clashing with Henry Cecil's magnificent 2000 Guineas winner Frankel and last year's Sussex hero Canford Cliffs.

The latter also picked up the Irish 2000 Guineas 12 months ago and made a successful return to action in the Lockinge Stakes, and his jockey Richard Hughes said: "It went great with Canford Cliffs in the Sussex Stakes last year.

"He just slipped very slightly around a furlong and a half from home, but that was the only scare in the race.

"All going well, Canford Cliffs will hopefully go to the Sussex Stakes again this year."
