O'Brien has strong York hand

Aidan O'Brien has his usual strong team of entries for the Great Voltigeur Stakes on August 17.

The Ballydoyle handler, who took the York prize with Milan and Powerscourt in 2001 and 2003 respectively, can call upon the likes of Recital, Master Of Hounds, Memphis Tennessee and Seville.

Impressive King Edward VII Stakes winner Nathaniel also features among the 36 Voltigeur entries. He was initially promoted to the head of the betting for the St Leger after his runaway win, although connections played down his chances of running in the world's oldest Classic in the aftermath.

His trainer John Gosden also has Masked Marvel and Thimaar engaged, while Mark Johnston is another with multiple entries, with Queen's Vase winner Namibian, Dordogne, Eternal Heart, Hurricane Higgins, Sadler's Risk and Malthouse to choose from.

Sir Michael Stoute's promising colts Fiorente and Sea Moon have the option, along with the Roger Varian improvers Dominant and Mijhaar.

Richard Hannon's Census, second to Brown Panther at Ascot, Ouija Board's son Voodoo Prince, Hughie Morrison's Royal meeting winner Pisco Sour, and Godolphin's Casamento and Ocean War are other interesting contenders.
