Little King Robin

Multiple-winning mare Little King Robin is the star of the show at Punchestown on Wednesday but the seven-race card also features the return from serious injury of veteran jockey Tommy Treacy.

Treacy, forever fondly remembered for his association with Danoli in the 1990s, has been out of racecourse action for a year and a half having fractured his tibia and fibula in a schooling accident in May 2013.

Treacy partners the Harry Smyth-trained Personal Shopper in the Festival Free Upgrade Offer Ends Today Handicap Hurdle in a bid to give the popular rider a first winner since August 2012.

At the other end of the jockeys' table is Mark Walsh who leads the championship currently and is again united with Little King Robin, on whom he has already won seven races this season.

The Colin Bowe-trained mare has finished third at Grade One level on her last two outings and is currently an outside chance for the Mares' Hurdle at the upcoming Cheltenham Festival.

Opposing Little King Robin are capable mares Analifet and Jennies Jewel.

Jockey Walsh, who leads Paul Townend by eight winners in the championship, also rides Oscar Knight for his employer JP McManus in the I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle.

The Tom Mullins-trained gelding will be bidding to improve on two recent runner-up finishes.

The Barry Connell-owned Boris De Blae, a 110,000 euros purchase in May 2014 following a point-to-point win, might provide Oscar Knight with most to do.

Elsewhere on the card, the concluding Family Saturday At The Festival Bumper is worth staying around for with the Jessica Harrington-trained Jett, a half-brother to three Grade One winners including Champion Hurdler Jetzki, setting a good standard having finished second to a well-regarded Willie Mullins runner at Leopardstown last month.
