The historic Her Majesty’s Plate sponsored by the Queen features on today’s card at Down Royal.

Trainer Joseph O’Brien has claimed the past two renewals including last year with Master Of Reality, which again has the Melbourne Cup as his target and O’Brien Junior can complete the treble.

The race is a competitive contest, however Ulster Derby winner Iowa represents the champion trainer Aidan O’Brien and could prove the danger.

Federica Sophia and Barbados also have solid claims to consideration.

Harmony Rose was considered good enough to travel to Royal Ascot last month by trainer Ken Condon and gets the vote in the opening two year race.

Special Power, runner-up last time and a good draw, supplies the threat, while Skatingonice, trained by Joseph O’Brien and bred for speed, is notable on his debut.

Realtin Fantasy, the locally trained Ever Rock and It’s All A Joke  a winner last time — form the short list in a likely fast and furious sprint handicap.

Gegenpressing gets the selection in the seven furlong handicap. A winner last time the Eddie Harty, the runner could follow up with Sh Boom and Tyrconnell major dangers, while the locally-trained Drummond Warrior is capable of scoring at this level.

Lady Of Luxury could offer the each way value in the Molson Coors Apprentice Handicap.

The local hope Lusis Naturea, winner of last year’s race, Sam Missile, Rita Levi and Enquire Within all enter calculations while top weight Zero Turn is fitted with first-time blinkers.

The finale is no easier to solve, however Lily Of The Glen could provide a local success being trained at Scarvagh by Natalia Lupini, who was on the scoreboard at Naas on Wednesday.

Maloja could supply the biggest threat, although the majority of runners are still maidens.
