Downpatrick stage their penultimate year of the year this afternoon and I'm An Izz Wizz can provide a local success in the handicap chase.

The selection, trained at Newry by Liam Lennon, was denied in a photo finish at the course last month by Muroor which re-opposes and will again be a major threat. The consistent Global Racing has solid place claims.

The opening maiden hurdle is a competitive contest in which Mooltazem, Marine One, Roseriver Has and Ya Ya Boy form the short list. The first named was a runner up at Galway and, trained by Gordon Elliott, looks the likely favourite while the latter won a bumper at the track last month.

Marine One is part of a large team trained by Denis Hogan at the meeting with the handler also opting to take the mount while Roseriver has disappointed in handicaps but reverts to a maiden. Ya Ya Boy, trained by Colin Bowe, offers the value bet.

The locally trained Greeandwhitearmy and Mr Moondance again clash in the handicap hurdle having finished first and second in a similar event last month at the course.

The former is taken to confirm placings while top weight Authorative is another worth consideration.

Trainer, Colin Bowe could complete a double with Cushinstown Finest which just gets into the conditions hurdle for horses never placed in the first three prior to today. Let her Flow appears the danger in a weak field.

The Noel Meade trained Star Adventure can follow up success at the venue last month in the Rated Hurdle if accounting for course specialist Canadian Steel and Generator City.

Inishbel, a point to point winner, and having scored over hurdles at the venue, tackles fences in the Beginners Chase and could add to the tally of Colin Bowe. Scotch Quay and Ashjan could be possible dangers.

The dominance of the four year old point scene has diminished the bumper appeal and just six have been declared for the finale.

Oscar Montel, third in a good Listowel contest, is taken to repel Shaws Bridge and Arakan Quest.

The first race today is at 1.35pm.
