Leading English referee Wayne Barnes will take charge of the Aviva Premiership final between Leicester and Northampton at Twickenham on May 25.

It will be Barnes' fifth Premiership final appointment in six seasons, and he also officiated when Leicester beat Northampton 36-8 at Franklin's Gardens during the regular league season seven weeks ago.

Premiership Rugby announced that Barnes' assistants will be his fellow Rugby Football Union officials Greg Garner and JP Doyle.

The game represents Leicester's ninth successive Premiership final appearance, but Northampton will be making their debut in English rugby's domestic season finale.
