Blues ease to victory
Cardiff Blues moved into third place in the Magners League with a comfortable 29-9 win over Treviso, but will have to improve on this performance if they wish to remain in a play-off position.
South African Willem De Waal put Treviso ahead with a penalty for offside, but opposite number Dan Parks responded with three kicks of his own. The duo exchanged a further penalty apiece, but the Treviso scrum felt the strain after Alessandro Zanni and Michele Rizzo were sent to the sin-bin, and Cardiff capitalised with a penalty try.
A long range effort from De Waal kept the visitors in touch at the interval, but the game's only try from Xavier Rush made the Blues safe and a steepling penalty count saw replacement flanker Robert Barbieri become the third Italian to have a 10-minute break.
