Chiefs lose Donald for a month

X-rays have revealed that Chiefs first five-eighths Stephen Donald has sustained fractures to his back similar to those suffered by fullback Mils Muliaina and, like him, he will be out of action for four weeks.

The official description was that Donald sustained fractures to the transverse processes of the lumbar vertebrae. While similar to Muliaina's injury suffered a fortnight ago, Donald's have occurred on the other side of the back.

The Chiefs have another All Black available to step up at first five-eighths with Mike Delany the first choice for their game against the Blues in Hamilton on Saturday.
