Chiefs tie coaches to new deals

Aviva Premiership club Exeter have announced a raft of new contracts for their coaching staff.

Head coach Rob Baxter, his assistant Ali Hepher, skills coach Ricky Pellow, academy coach Rob Gibson and team manager Robin Cowling have all agreed fresh three-year deals at Sandy Park.

Exeter currently lie third in the Premiership, despite only securing top-flight status last year, and they are also on course to reach the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-finals.

Chief executive Tony Rowe said: "I am so pleased that I've finished negotiating an extension on all their contracts because I really wanted to keep them all.

"It's a fantastic coaching team and as you try to progress the most difficult thing is to get hold of a good coaching team. But I've got one, and I am the first to acknowledge the effort they have put in.

"They were untested in the Premiership and apart from Ali, who Rob recruited himself, I was instrumental in putting that group together.

"It's an awesome group, and I consider it quite a coup to have kept them all."
