Davies ruled out for Scarlets

Wales centre Jonathan Davies has been ruled out of the Scarlets' Magners League clash against Glasgow on Friday night.

Davies was due to be released back to his region from Wales' training camp ahead of Test match appointments with Australia, South Africa, Fiji and New Zealand next month.

But his hopes of some game-time before the autumn international series have been dashed by injury.

Davies was hurt during Wales training on Wednesday, suffering what is thought to be a recurrence of ankle trouble sustained last month.

The Scarlets have described Davies' injury as "minor," but it has still given Wales coach Warren Gatland another fitness headache ahead of Australia's Millennium Stadium visit on November 6.

It is not known at this stage whether or not Davies will regain full fitness before the Wallabies clash.

Gatland has already lost full-back Lee Byrne (hand), wing Leigh Halfpenny (ankle ligaments) and back-row forward Ryan Jones (calf muscle) for the Australia fixture.
