Edinburgh ring the changes

Edinburgh have made nine changes as they go in search of a third straight Magners League home win at Murrayfield against Benetton Treviso on Friday night.

David Young, Kyle Traynor and Andrew Kelly come into an all-new front row, Fraser McKenzie starts at second row and Alan MacDonald at flanker. Greig Laidlaw and David Blair - recovered from a head knock - pair up at half-back, with Ben Cairns at centre and Mark Robertson on the wing.

"Against Leinster last Saturday, we let ourselves down in a few areas, and with the changes we've made to the team, a number of guys now have an opportunity to help us produce a better performance and result," said coach Rob Moffat referring to his side's narrow 19-18 defeat in Edinburgh last week.

"Some of the guys who'll be involved on Friday haven't had as much game time as they would have liked so far this season.

"This is a great opportunity for them to show why we should be picking them more often, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what they produce.

"We've been doing well at home in the Magners League of late, and we all really want another win to keep up that positive momentum."

Edinburgh defeated Aironi in Viadana last month but Friday's meeting is the first Magners League home clash with an Italian side.
