Henson suspended after incident on plane
Cardiff Blues utility back Gavin Henson has been suspended with immediate effect following an incident on the flight back from Scotland after Friday night's 31-3 defeat at Glasgow Warriors.
The Welsh club's management team will meet on Monday to further discuss the matter, but announced the decision had been made to suspend the 30-year-old Wales centre.
A Cardiff Blues spokesperson said on the club's website: "Cardiff Blues can confirm that Gavin Henson has been suspended with immediate effect following an incident on the flight back from Scotland after their match against Glasgow Warriors last night.
"The Cardiff Blues management team will meet first thing Monday morning to discuss the matter further."
Henson signed for Cardiff in October on an eight-month contract, the Blues becoming the player's fourth club in the space of 12 months after brief spells with Saracens and Toulon in the wake of his departure from the Ospreys.
After several reality television appearances including on Strictly Come Dancing and The Bachelor, Henson made his long-awaited return to rugby in the Blues' 28-9 RaboDirect PRO12 victory over Newport Gwent Dragons on December 23.
He came off the bench in the 65th minute at Firhill, but could now be doubtful for Saturday's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Leinster in Dublin.
Henson, who has 33 Wales caps to his name and toured New Zealand with the British and Irish Lions in 2005, left the Ospreys in October 2010, negotiating a release from his contract after going on an extended period of unpaid leave.
After leaving the Ospreys Henson agreed a deal to join Aviva Premiership side Saracens but made just four appearances for them before switching to Toulon. He initially made an encouraging start to his time in France, scoring a try on his debut, but was also suspended for a week after being involved in a nightclub altercation with two team-mates.
He was named in Wales' provisional 45-man squad for the World Cup and won his first international caps for two years against the Barbarians and England in the summer, but a wrist injury suffered in the latter game ended his hopes of going to New Zealand.
