Highlanders edge out Cheetahs

Colin Slade made a successful return as the Highlanders overcame the Cheetahs 24-21 at Carisbrook.

Slade, who had been a doubt with a groin injury, ran strongly at the line, directed play well and kicked four goals from five attempts as the Highlanders gained their fifth win in seven matches.

The other stand-out performer was flanker Adam Thomson, who scored two tries and continued his outstanding form at the breakdown and in broken play.

WP Nel, Robert Ebersohn and Phillip Burger were the try-scorers for the Cheetahs.
