Bath are poised to complete the signing of Tom Homer after London Irish confirmed the full-back will leave the Madejski Stadium club this summer.
The 24-year-old is understood to be a direct replacement at Bath for Gavin Henson, who will join Bristol at the end of the season.
Academy graduate Homer has racked up 780 points in 110 appearances with London Irish, owing to prodigious goal-kicking but also his impressive attacking ability.
Irish have already announced the capture of Scotland's Sean Maitland to offset Homer's departure, with new boss Tom Coventry also arriving in the summer.
Operations director Bob Casey admitted Irish have had to concede defeat in their bid to persuade Homer to stay with the Exiles.
"We did everything in our power to persuade Tom to stay at the club, however, he feels that his future is elsewhere," said Casey.
"We would like to thank him for his contribution to London Irish and wish him all the best for the future."
