Matawalu's lone try is enough for Glasgow

By Robert Jones

Nikola Matawalu scored the only try of the match as in-form Glasgow claimed a hard-fought 17-9 Guinness PRO12 victory over Treviso.

Peter Horne missed the conversion but kicked four penalties as the Warriors consolidated second place in the overall standings with a result against the winless Italians.

Jayden Hayward kept Treviso in the match with three penalties but it was not enough, as Horne's fourth kick robbed them of a losing bonus point.

In a game that turned into a stodgy battle in sodden conditions, Glasgow scored an early spectacular try as the ball passed through several hands before scrum-half Matawalu touched down with a flourish.

Treviso, had replacement prop Albert Anae red-carded 10 minutes from the end.
