McCaffrey joins the Force
The Western Force have signed New South Wales Waratahs loose forward Lachlan McCaffrey, as well as handing a new contract to lock Phoenix Battye.
McCaffrey, a former Australia under-20 international, made his debut for the Tahs in 2010 but has missed the majority of 2011 with a broken leg and dislocated ankle.
"Locky is someone who has the physical traits around the breakdown and is skilled in the lineout," coach Richard Graham said.
"He also has the capacity in his game to run a little wider and that can open up our attacking options."
Battye, one of the emerging prospects on the west coast, has been upgraded to the first-team squad and has signed for the 2012 season.
