Murphy ruled out for Tigers

Leicester have lost the services of their captain and Ireland international Geordan Murphy for Saturday's crunch Heineken Cup clash against the Scarlets.

Full-back Murphy was carried off during last weekend's Aviva Premiership victory over title rivals Northampton. It is thought he could struggle to play again this season.

Scott Hamilton, now back from his wedding in New Zealand, replaces Murphy, with England lock Louis Deacon taking over as skipper for the Pool Five showdown at Parc-y-Scarlets.

Leicester rugby director Richard Cockerill said: "We are really disappointed that Geordan suffered an ankle injury last weekend.

"He was really coming into form and he is a big player for us, but Scott has played a lot of games for us at full-back and his return is very timely."

Hamilton's return is the only change for Tigers as they chase a win that would revive their quarter-final hopes after drawing at home to Perpignan last time out in Europe.

The Scarlets lead the group, two points above Leicester, while Perpignan are a further point back and remain major quarter-final contenders.
