New Zealand coach Steve Hansen turns up the heat on Gatland

By Jonathan Bradley

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen has warned the British and Irish Lions they need to sharpen up quickly if they want to win any of the Test matches.

The All Blacks crushed Samoa 78-0 at Eden Park yesterday but Hansen says his side are nowhere near the finished article and he believes his Lions counterpart Warren Gatland has much bigger headaches.

"He's started running out of time to get the practice," said Hansen. "I've always said, once you have the style that works for you, you usually stick with it, so it's going to be a big move if he changes and we'll wait and see.

"Are we the finished unit yet? Of course we're not. We know that and we have a lot of work to do. And we look forward to watching the Maoris go into the Lions and we get our chance the following Saturday."

The Lions will face the Maori All Blacks in Rotorua this morning (8.35am) with the first of the three-Test series taking place in Auckland on June 24.
