Phil de Glanville to join RFU Council

Former England captain Phil de Glanville is to join the Rugby Football Union Council.

The RFU said that 48-year-old De Glanville will be the council's student RFU representative.

De Glanville, who won 38 caps and also skippered Bath during a 12-year career at the Recreation Ground, said: " I am delighted to be joining the RFU Council.

"Rugby has been a significant part of my life, both personally and professionally, for over 25 years, and I am hopeful that I will be able to share that experience for the benefit of others, particularly in the university sector."
