Handre Pollard kicked 16 points as the Bulls extended their winning run to four games with a 31-19 victory over Crusaders in their Super 15 clash at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
Tries from Francois Hougaard, Burger Odendaal and Grant Hattingh made up the score for the hosts, while Nemani Nadolo crossed over for the Crusaders and Dan Carter added four penalties and one conversion.
Frans Ludeke's Bulls got off to a perfect start as Hougaard crossed over following a great team effort, collecting Jessie Kriel's pass on the right to put some points on the board.
Pollard missed the conversion but the Bulls pressed on and five minutes later, Odendaal scored their second try of the game to double their lead as he got over on the right, while Pollard converted to make it 12-0.
Carter hit back with two penalties for the Crusaders before Nadolo crossed over for a great solo try midway through the first half and Carter added the two-pointer from a difficult angle to hand his side a narrow lead.
Pollard and Carter exchanged penalties to keep the deficit the same, before the former put the hosts back ahead three minutes before the break as they lead 18-16.
South Africa's Pollard put the Bulls further in front with an excellent penalty kick 10 minutes after the break, while adding another minute later, the 21-year-old fired his powerful strike over as the Bulls began to dominate.
After 58 minutes Crusaders replacement Colin Slade did well to cross over, but after the TMO had a look, the try was not given as they ruled it was a forward pass from Nadolo.
Carter reduced the deficit for the away side with a penalty five minutes later, but - after 65 minutes - Hattingh intercepted a pass from the Crusaders fly-half and ran past visitors' defence and over the tryline.
Pollard converted to make it 31-19 with the last score of the match.
