Ulster's Nick Williams will join Cardiff Blues next season with team manager Bryn Cunningham promising to deliver a "top class" replacement for the fans' favourite.
While no announcement is imminent, Ulster's top target has been identified for some time with Cunningham saying: "Over the next period we will be able to announce Nick's replacement, which will be a top class addition to the squad moving into next season.
"While we are unable to see Nick in an Ulster jersey after his current contract, I want to thank him for all his efforts over the past four years."
After spending the past four years at Kingspan Stadium, Williams (below) reflected: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time in Belfast. The Ulster people are special and the supporters have always been so good to me. Rest assured, I'll be giving everything for the team until the end of this season. We have set our targets over the next five months and I want to play my part in us achieving them."
Ulster will name their team for the Boxing Day visit to Connacht at lunchtime today with a handful of players including Rory Best set to be rested.
