Saxons rout USA

Worcester wing Miles Benjamin ran in a hat-trick as England Saxons scored 13 tries in a crushing 87-8 victory over Eddie O'Sullivan's United States side.

Stuart Lancaster's Saxons outfit could hardly have made a more convincing start to the defence of their Churchill Cup title as they turned on the style at Franklin's Gardens.

There was a double for Mike Brown and further tries from Micky Young, Tom Johnson, Billy Twelvetrees, Henry Trinder, Charlie Sharples, replacement Graham Kitchener and Paul Hodgson, plus a penalty try awarded by referee Nigel Owens after the Americans repeatedly collapsed scrums near their own try-line.
