Defending champions Royal School Armagh and Wallace High are still in the running for the Danske Bank Schools' Cup

Co-defending champions Wallace High will open their Danske Bank Schools’ Cup title defence against Royal School Dungannon in the fourth round after today’s draw.

The Lisburn school shared the trophy with Royal School Armagh in 2020 when the final was cancelled due to Covid-19 and will host fellow fourth round entrants Dungannon on January 29.

Fellow defending champions Armagh will travel to Ballyclare High in round four after they defeated Belfast Royal Academy 18-0 in today’s third round.

One of the ties of the fourth round will see an impressive Coleraine Grammar, who overcame neighbours Limavady Grammar in this morning’s third round 24-10, make the short trip to Ballymena Academy in what should be a thrilling clash.

Two of the tournament’s heavyweights, Methodist College Belfast and Royal Belfast Academical Institution, will face Enniskillen Royal Grammar and Omagh Academy respectively in the last-16.

In the third round, Enniskillen picked up an impressive 15-13 win away to Dalriada to set up their home tie with MCB, while Omagh Academy hammered Grosvenor Grammar 41-12 to earn the trip to RBAI.

The narrowest game of the day saw Foyle College squeeze past Belfast High 16-14 and they have been rewarded with another home tie against Sullivan Upper in round four.

Regent House were tight winners over rivals Bangor Grammar, 15-12, and they will head to Dromore High, who made light work of neighbours Banbridge Academy 24-0, in the fourth round.

The final last-16 game will see Down High, who defeated Rainey Endowed 24-10 in round three, make the trip to Belfast where they will take on Campbell College.

All eight fourth round games will be played on Saturday January 29.

The Schools’ Bowl quarter-finals, contested by the sides eliminated in the third round, will see Banbridge head to Grosvenor, Belfast High host Dalriada, BRA take on Bangor and Limavady make the short trip to Rainey.
