Wallace leave it late

Wallace HS 17 - 10 Limavady GS

A try in the final quarter gave Wallace victory in a closely contested tie in Lisburn.

Both teams came with outstanding records with the home team taking an early 10 point advantage which meant that Limavady were always in a catch-up situation.

Wallace’s Jordan Heatley showed his pace after he kicked ahead and handed off a couple of defenders to score.

Their forwards had the better of the exchanges at that stage and a maul led to Cal McIlwaine barging over for the second.

Limavady were undaunted and they put their opponents under a lot of pressure coming up to half-time to reduce the arrears with a Luke Faulkner penalty.

Limavady then managed to level the game when they moved the ball wide for Aaron Rainey to score and Stuart Hall to add the points.

After exerting all that energy to be on equal terms Limavady then came under renewed pressure.

Following a number of phases David Scott crossed for James McCallan to goal and put the Lisburn team into the quarter-finals.
