Henderson on hold as Ireland gold reserve

Iain Henderson will have to wait a little longer for his return to action after he was named only among the replacements for Ireland's crunch clash with Scotland in Dublin tomorrow (2.30pm kick-off).

The Ulster lock suffered an injury against Italy almost a month ago and has not played since. Having trained fully this week, he'll be unleashed from the bench against the Scots as Ireland look to stay on course for a third Six Nations title in five years.

"It was just a case of trying to keep some continuity," explained head coach Joe Schmidt. "It also potentially adds a bit to our last 20-30 minutes of the game where an athlete like Iain can come on."

His Ulster team-mates Rory Best and Jacob Stockdale both start .
