Ireland have the bottle for win or bust battle: Best

By Jonathan Bradley

Ireland skipper Rory Best is confident his side can deal with the pressure of knowing their championship hopes hinge on the result of tonight's clash with Wales (8.05pm kick-off).

Joe Schmidt's men face a make-or-break in Cardiff against a Wales side hugely motivated to steady the ship of their own campaign.

But, with the prospect of a tantalising championship decider against England in Dublin next weekend should they win, Best is sure his side can handle the expectation.

"The favourites tag doesn't affect us, we will focus on our own game," said the Ulster hero.

"We have prepared very well and we are in a good place. We know that if we lose to Wales then the championship title is dead.

"To come to a place like this and perform in an intense atmosphere will be a big statement of where we are and of where the squad is because it is going to take a 23-man effort.

"We want to be involved in the last weekend because we have a group of players, and a coaching staff, who want to win things."
