Stockdale in line for try bonanza in Irish glory bid

By Ruaidhri O'Connor

Pumpe-up Jacob Stockdale will aim to deliver for Joe Schmidt after Ireland's head coach demanded his side score tries in their game against Italy in Dublin tomorrow.

Ireland were the only side not to cross the whitewash on the opening weekend of the Six Nations as they scraped past France in Paris, with Ulster ace Stockdale among those frustrated by the resolute home defence.

Ireland fans are expecting a big win over the inferior Azzurri, and coach Schmidt wants to deliver against a team who have shipped nine tries in their last two meetings.

"I guess we never go in with that expectation," Schmidt said. "We want to get out there and score tries and last year the number of tries was fantastic.

"You have got to keep scoring and driving yourself forward because this competition, maybe not in the last two years but the two years previous to that, came down to very fine margins."
