Strabane II defeated Minor North leaders Tir Chonaill 30-21 and have moved into joint second place but a win over Letterkenny II at the weekend would make them joint leaders.

Strabane captain Clive Allen referenced the tricky conditions.

He said: "It was very windy which made passing and kicking difficult. Johnny Robinson put us in front with a converted try before Stephen Murdoch ran in."

Tir Chonaill hit back when Benny McGarvey touched down for Paul Gallagher to goal. Robinson crossed for Strabane's third but a converted Shaun Doogan effort cut their lead. Allen kicked a penalty and touched down.

Dom Gallagher ran in for Tir Chonaill which was again converted but Strabane had the last say when Johnny Kee crossed the line.
